By observing and experiencing this experiment in community living and then engaging in practices that support and improve that community, participants leave the program with concrete leadership tools, as well as hope and inspiration. They bring these tools and skills back to their workplaces, families, and neighborhoods to implement more sustainable living practices, often initiating their own cohousing communities and ecovillages.
Come experience a more richly connected way of life. Learn about sustainable living and culture change. Enjoy delicious meals from local foods, swim in our pond, hike the land.
Annual Education Workshop Program
One-day workshops offer a delightful, affordable way to experience life at EcoVillage at Ithaca. The day will include a range of activities: time in nature, learning about life in community, an in-depth tour of our ecological village, a local foods lunch, and taking part in a hands-on project on one of our two organic farms.
10AM to 5PM, includes local foods lunch.
If you want to know more about life in community or have ever considered becoming a resident of EcoVillage at Ithaca, then this workshop is for you! Enjoy a balance of nature connection, personal renewal and hands-on learning, while being immersed in the EcoVillage environment with green building and renewable energy systems, cooperative community and consensus decision-making, and deep ecology.
(Friday afternoon- Sunday afternoon)
This weeklong workshop offers an introduction to the social foundations of building strong and thriving communities, and living more sustainably. We will learn from both hands-on involvement with the EcoVillage community and the broader Ithaca region's flourishing sustainability movement, as well as the learning community that course participants create. The emphasis will be on a balance between brief presentation of core concepts and information, skill building practice sessions and hands-on projects, field trips, personal reflection and integration, while being immersed in an environment with green building and renewable energy systems, consensus decision-making and deep ecology.
Week-long in-depth program, from Saturday, 4PM to Saturday, 2PM.
